About the event

Spring is a season of abundance, offering a bounty of wild foods waiting to be discovered. On this guided walk through the lush landscapes of Sausalito, we’ll explore the edible plants that thrive in the season, from the crunch of miner’s lettuce to the floral spiciness of magnolia petals.

Along the way, you’ll learn ethical foraging practices, plant identification techniques, and traditional uses of wild ingredients.

After our walk, we’ll gather for a hands-on session on preserving these fleeting flavors. Learn how to infuse honey with edible flowers, and vinegar with seaweed and berries, pickle magnolias and make compound butters and flavored. We’ll also share techniques for crafting syrups from blossoms and pine cones—perfect for cocktails, teas, or drizzling over desserts.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with a deeper connection to the land, a newfound appreciation for spring’s edible treasures, and the skills to preserve them in…
